[71 Years of Independence] Protecting and Recovering Cultural Relics
Countless cultural relics were destroyed and stolen during the Japanese colonial period. Jeon Hyeongpil, who had the pen name Gansong, was cultural freedom fighter, protecting Korea's cultural heritage from Japanese imperialism. His aim was to preserve the national identity and cultural pride by protecting cultural artifacts. This year marks the 71st anniversary of Korea's liberation. Efforts still continue to recover the artifacts which were forcibly taken by Japan. We explored the cultural relic protection activities that date back to Jeon Hyeongpil and continue to this day.
