1. South Korea on Thursday reported 5-thousand 2-hundred 66 new COVID-19 cases. The country also reported its first confirmation of the Omicron variant. Meanwhile, the number of patients at critical condition stands at 733, continuing to break new records to the highest figure since the start of the pandemic.
2. U.S. Secretary of Defense Loyd Austin on Thursday with his South Korean counterpart Suh Wook announced a joint-statement at the 53th Security Consultative Meeting that officially approved "Strategic Planning Guidance" to reflect changes on the allies' updated wartime operation plans, considering the “shifting strategic environment” of South Korea in regards to the North Korean threats.
3. Democratic Party of Korea announced on Thursday that it has reached agreement with the ruling party concerning next year's budget plan which would be around 6-hundred 7-point 9 trillion Korean won, a figure that is around 3-point 5 trillion won larger than what the government proposed.
