[Korea Now Today's Headline] 11/19/FRI

1. Reuters and New York Times reported that U.S. president Joe Biden confirmed on Thursday that his administration is considering a diplomatic boycott of the winter games in Beijing, as a protest against Chinese government’s human rights abuses, though it would not prevent U.S. athletes from competing.

2. U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai arrived in Seoul on Thursday for talks on supply chain issues along with trade issues concerning the Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement and steel tariffs, as it is the first time in 11 years that a top U.S. trade official has visited Seoul.

3. South Korea on Friday reported 3-thousand 34 new COVID-19 cases. Due to the growing shortage of hospital beds reserved for seriously ill patients, health authorities say the current medical capacity can manage up to 500 critically ill patients in a stable manner.
