Han-na CHANG started off her career as a cellist and she is also a conductor. She started off on cello really young and people were mesmerized to see a young girl so into the cello and giving it her all.
She actually won a music competition when she was only 9 years old and that’s when she started receiving attention…
She started attending Julliard in 1993 the year after and started her professional music career then.
This young artist has a very interesting background.
She went to Harvard University for her undergrad and she studied Philosophy! She hasn’t finished her undergrad yet, but after that her musical career wise she switched to conducting. So now, you see her more conducting than playing the cello.
We have some good news for this conductor! Han-Na CHANG is going to be the Artistic Leader and Chief Conductor of the Trondheim Symfoniorkester starting in August this year. She is currently there as the principal Guest Conductor but now she’s taking the helm of the orchestra.
She has worked with many prestigious orchestras as well, so we look forward to many of her musical endeavors in the future as a conductor.
But we sometimes miss her on the cello, too.
