South Korea on Tuesday reported 1-thousand 2-hundred 2 new cases of COVID-19, staying above the thousand mark for the fourth week.
The daily tally has slightly dropped but this is mainly due to fewer tests carried out over the weekend.
Of Tuesday's cases, all but 50 were locally transmitted
There have been 5 more deaths, raising the death toll to 2-thousand 1-hundred 4.
South Korea has also confirmed two cases of the Delta plus variant for the very first time.
There are growing concerns the Delta plus variant could be as transmissible as the Delta variant first identified in India.
