The U.S., the UK and Australia have agreed to sign a new security pact to share advanced defense technologies.
The U.S. announced Wednesday that it is launching a new partnership with the UK and Australia as part of efforts to maintain peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
Watchers say the move is likely a bid to counter China's growing military and tech presence.
Under the new pact, Australia will acquire nuclear-powered submarines but without nuclear weapons.
They'll also share information in areas, including AI, long-range strike capabilities and underwater systems.
