South Korea is making it mandatory for apartments to have a certain amount of electric car chargers in their parking lots.
According to the Trade Ministry on Tuesday, new apartments must provide EV chargers in at least five percent of their parking spaces, while already built apartments must have chargers at two percent of their parking spots.
The rule applies to all apartment complexes with 100 or more homes.
It comes in on Friday next week, but existing apartments will have a one year grace period.
Meanwhile, large companies including rental-car firms are obliged to buy a certain number of eco-friendly cars when buying new cars.
