N. Korea to hold key party meeting ahead of 10th anniversary of Kim Jong-un regime Updated: 2021-12-02 11:40:53 KST

North Korea will convene a key party meeting later this month, which could be used as a venue to highlight leader Kim Jong-un's accomplishments ahead of the 10th anniversary of his rule on December 30th.
Pyeongyang's state media reported Thursday that Kim presided over a politburo session of the ruling party the previous day, and decided to discuss plans for the new year at the upcoming fourth plenary meeting.
During Wednesday's talks, Kim called 2021 a year of "victory" for the stable management of the state economy.
In December 2019, Kim delivered a speech at a four-day plenary session and skipped his annual New Year's Day address for the first time since taking power.
