U.S. pharmaceutical company Moderna says the company will be ready to seek approval for its COVID-19 booster shot by March next year specifically targeting the new Omicron variant.
According to the company Wednesday they have already been working on a vaccine that's effective against up to four different COVID-19 variants.
U.S. drugmaker Pfizer said Friday the company are capable of producing an Omicron-specific vaccine within 100 days.
A new vaccine would require emergency use authorization from the U.S. FDA.
