South Korean babies born last year are expected to live an average of 83-and-a-half years.
Statistics Korea on Wednesday said that babies born in 2020 have a life expectancy of 83 years and six months.
That's more than two months longer than those born in 2019… and also three years more than those born in 2010.
For girls, the average life expectancy was 86.5, while for boys it was 80.5.
For both males and females, that's around two or three years longer than the OECD average.
Meanwhile, cancer was seen as the number one cause of death in the future, followed by heart disease and pneumonia.
