Online Black Friday sales dropped for the first time this year, as consumers scooped up deals earlier in the holiday season.
According to Adobe Analytics, sales came to around eight.nine billion U.S. dollars.
Last year's record of nine billion dollars was more than 21 percent higher than the previous year.
Adobe Analytics said people spent their money earlier, due to many promotions and deals starting in October.
Experts also note that consumers were strategic in their gift shopping, making sure they got their goods in time in light of the ongoing global supply chain crisis.
