South Korea's daily COVID-19 tally on Thursday came close to the 4-thousand mark, at 3-thousand 9-hundred 38 new cases.
The country reported 39 more deaths, the highest figure since the start of the fourth wave.
The number of critically-ill patients also hit an all-time high, at 6-hundred-12.
The country's hotspot, Seoul, continues to witness record-breaking figures.
Over a three week period, the daily average in the capital doubled,from the 6-hundred range to nearly 14-hundred.
