South Korea confirmed 1-thousand 2-hundred 66 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday.
All but 20 were locally transmitted.
The nation is slowly transitioning into the first of three 6-week-long phases of "Living with COVID-19."
From November, restrictions on operation hours for almost all businesses will be lifted.
However, bars and nightclubs have to close by midnight.
A "vaccine pass" will also be required for entry into bars and clubs.
In addition, a maximum of ten people can now gather regardless of the number of people vaccinated.
In restaurants and cafes, no more than four unvaccinated people are allowed.
