S. Korea to provide Iran 1 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine on humanitarian grounds Updated: 2021-10-25 17:06:12 KST

South Korea will provide a million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine to Iran on humanitarian grounds, to help that country's vaccine shortage.
Seoul's foreign ministry said Monday that the shipment will arrive in Iran on Wednesday as a symbol of sixty years of ties between the two nations.
Such a donation comes after phone talks between the foreign ministers of Seoul and Tehran last month, where South Korea vowed to help Iran overcome the humanitarian crisis due to the pandemic.
Iran is the third country to receive vaccine donations from South Korea, followed by Vietnam and Thailand last month.
