The White House's chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci says Americans can mix and match vaccines when getting COVID-19 booster shots but he recommends people stick with their original vaccine if possible.
Speaking to CNN on Friday, he said sticking with the same regimen "just makes sense," though some people might use different ones because of availability or personal choice.
The U.S. Surgeon General, Vivek Murthy, later echoed those remarks on CNBC, saying it's quite reasonable to stick with what you got first if it went well.
The CDC last week approved the mixing and matching of the vaccines from Moderna or Johnson and Johnson.
