World Bank expects 5.7% global growth in 2021 Updated: 2021-10-12 20:31:32 KST

The World Bank expects the global economy to grow 5.7 percent this year, slightly up from its previous forecast in June.
But the bank's president cautioned over widening disparities between countries.
David Malpass said advanced economies were already seeing pre-pandemic levels of growth, but output in developing countries remains below pre-pandemic projections.
To this, the World Bank plans to raise 100 billion U.S. dollars in donations to help those countries overcome what it called "tragic reversals in development."
