From next year, South Korea's financial contribution to the UN is expected to be among the ten highest among all 193 member states.
Speaking on Monday at the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee, the Permanent Mission of South Korea to the UN, Cho Hyun, said the country is forecast to contribute the ninth most in 2022.
The UN regular budget is prepared using contributions from each member.
The share is calculated every three years based on objective economic indicators, such as gross national income and external debt.
The proportion of South Korea's share 30 years ago when it first joined the UN was point-six-nine percent, now it's almost 2.three percent.
