U.S. to offer COVID-19 booster shots from Sept. 20 to curb virus wave Updated: 2021-09-06 17:14:48 KST

The U.S. is seeing a rapid resurgence in coronavirus cases, with the daily death toll rising to around 15-hundred.
As of Monday, the average number of deaths per day was 1,550, the highest since March.
And the average number of cases per day was more than 160-thousand.
To bring those numbers down, the U.S. will start offering booster shots from September 20th using only the Pfizer vaccine for now.
Those plans come as the G20 health ministers, meeting in Rome over the weekend, agreed to seek a fairer distribution of vaccines in the so-called "Rome Pact."
