Seoul's chief nuclear negotiator says the U.S. firmly maintains a "creative, flexible and open" stance toward resuming dialogue with North Korea.
Noh Kyu-duk was speaking to reporters in Washington on Tuesday, adding the U.S. is aware of the urgency of the North's nuclear issues.
He has talked with the U.S. about cooperation over humanitarian aid for the North and said South Korea and the U.S. are fully ready to work with Pyeongyang if it responds to the offer.
During his visit to Washington, Noh met several U.S. officials, including his counterpart Sung Kim and the White House's chief Asia adviser, Kurt Campbell.
Noh is likely to meet Kim again in the near future.
