North Korea has responded to South Korea's attempts to make contact through the ship-to-ship radio communications channel.
Seoul's defense ministry said Tuesday that the western and eastern military lines are operating normally, meaning all direct military communication channels are now up and running.
The North notified the South on the illegal fishing activities of foreign vessels along the Northern Limit Line, the de facto inter-Korean maritime border in the West Sea.
