Male triathletes compete under temperatures of 29 degrees Celsius as Norwegian takes gold Updated: 2021-07-27 10:39:32 KST

The last time the Olympics were held in Tokyo in 1964, it was held in October under more favorable weather for athletes competing outdoors.
Male triathlon athletes felt the extreme Tokyo heat on Monday.
The Norwegian gold-medal winner was seen vomiting soon after crossing the line.
Despite starting at six-thirty AM, temperatures rose to 29 degrees Celsius at one point.
The race was not without other controversies either, including a false start when a media boat failed to get out of the way when the starter's pistol went off AND a possible sewage leak due to a tropical storm before the race.
