South Korea and the U.S. are considering to end their "working group" on North Korea.
The issue was discussed Monday during talks between the allies' nuclear negotiators.
They also agreed to strengthen director-general level talks.
Seoul and Washington set up the "working group" in 2018 to coordinate their policy on North Korea, including sanctions enforcement and inter-Korean economic cooperation.
The North has criticized the group, claiming it hampers inter-Korean relations, apparently due to its strict criteria for sanctions waivers.
