South Korea's foreign minister, Chung Eui-yong met this morning in Seoul with the the new chief of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, Admiral John Aquilino.
Minister Chung congratulated Admiral Aquilino on his new role, and asked for his continued contributions to the alliance and to peace on the Korean Peninsula.
The minister called the alliance the "linchpin" of regional stability and prosperity.
They also discussed the outcome of the recent Moon-Biden summit and follow-up measures.
The U.S. official pledged cooperation on those measures, and said the allies will maintain their combined defense posture.
