According to industry sources, South Korean EV battery maker, SK Innovation, is planning to build two more plants in the U.S.
SK Group chairman Chey Tae-won is scheduled to visit the state of Georgia next Monday while he's in the U.S. as part of a business delegation for the South Korea-U.S. summit.
SK Innovation already has plans for two plants in Georgia, so this would make four.
The two already announced will have the capacity to produce 430-thousand electric vehicle batteries a year.
The additional investment would have a similar value to the first two plants at around 2.7 billion U.S. dollars.
