Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motor to work together to tackle auto chip shortage Updated: 2021-05-14 07:03:43 KST

South Korea's two leading conglomerates, Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motor are putting their heads together to tackle the global chip shortage in the auto industry.
The two firms, along with the country's industry ministry and related institutions, signed an agreement, to work together to foster the automotive semiconductor industry and boost the research and development of semiconductors for future cars.
The details of their cooperation are not yet decided, but a government official noted there's a possibility that Hyundai may procure automotive chips from Samsung.
