Another uptick in cases.
South Korea reported 715 new COVID-19 infections on Thursday,.. the most the country has seen in 15 days.
The last peak was late last month when South Korea confirmed 769 cases.
The vast majority 692 of Thursday's infections were locally transmitted.
The greater Seoul area continues to see a heavy concentration, with the region accounting for slightly over two-thirds of the country's total daily cases.
Health authorities said Thursday that new infections in the greater Seoul area have accounted for 60 to 70 percent of locally transmitted cases for 14 weeks straight.
Some areas in the capital are seeing up to four times the national average.
Gyeonggi-do Province logged 226 cases over the past 24 hours, climbing back above 200 for the first time in 19 days.
The area saw outbreaks at a kids daycare center and an English private education academy.
A cluster that started with a teacher at an English academy in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do Province, spread through a daycare center in Ki-heung district that caused 16 cases, including at least three children.
Another English academy in Gunpo city, Gyeonggi-do Province, saw 22 new infections.
However, despite the uptick in infections, health authorities say the R-naught number, which shows the virus' reproductive rate, has hit a low not seen since April at zero.9-4.
