Expat in UAE turns rooftop into garden amid COVID-19 lockdown Updated: 2021-05-07 10:02:19 KST

Many around the world are working and studying from home because of COVID-19 but, some are even farming at home.
An expat and his family in the UAE turned their rooftop into a garden, growing everything a household needs.
Within arm's reach, they can get fruit and vegetables needed to cook a meal.
The family initially engaged in the farming activity because of the COVID-19 situation and social distancing restrictions.

"We are almost, thank God, I should say, self-sufficient in terms of herbs, you can see the herbs corner here. And also the leaf vegetables. First, curry leaves, coriander, lettuce, we have other things like mint then oregano and we prepare a list of things so that any visitor can just go through this one."

He added that he was able to save a considerable amount of money, but more importantly, he and his family are enjoying this.
He hopes he can establish a university where he can teach his knowledge of farming on a terrace.
