Military chiefs of S. Korea, U.S. and Japan vow to strengthen cooperation Updated: 2021-04-30 16:45:21 KST

The top military officers of South Korea, the U.S. and Japan saw saw eye to eye on the need to strengthen trilateral cooperation amid concerns over North Korea's nuclear and missile.
This during their first face-to-face talks in a year-and-a-half in Hawaii on Thursday.
South Korea's JCS Chairman General Won In-choul said trilateral cooperation is crucial for peace and security on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia while his U.S. counterpart General Mark Milley reaffirmed U.S. commitment to provide extended deterrence and Japan's General Koji Yamazaki stressed the importance of three-way cooperation for the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions.
