The number of births in South Korea in February was the lowest for that particular month since related records began 40 years ago.
Data from Statistics Korea show total births at just over 21,four-hundred, a decline of almost six percent on-year.
The number has been dropping on-year for 63 straight months.
The number of births in February was exceeded by the number of deaths by more than two-thousand.
The number of marriages was also the lowest ever for the month of February, largely due to the pandemic.
