South Korea's exports of the traditional Korean dish kimchi hit an all-time high in the first quarter of this year.
And its kimchi trade surplus was the biggest in eleven years.
According to the Korea Customs Service,… outbound shipments of kimchi came to more than 46 million dollars, an increase from a year earlier of 52 percent.
That exceeded imports of kimchi by more than 8 million dollars.
Experts say there's been growing worldwide interest in the benefits of kimchi for the immune system.
The biggest export desinations were Japan, the U.S. and Hong Kong.
Fully 100 percent of Korea's kimchi imports were from China.
