South Korea is going to start issuing proof of vaccination as soon as today for those who've gotten their shots already.
The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency says vaccine recipients will be able to get a digital certificate through the agency's mobile application once the app gets approved for download through the app stores.
The certification will state vaccine type, lot number, date and location of inoculation.
Personal information including name, date of birth and nationality are optional.
The use of blockchain technology will prevent forgery and the disclosure of personal information.
A paper version will also continue to be available for those who don't have a smartphone.
