S. Korea raises travel alert on Myanmar due to turmoil Updated: 2021-04-03 17:00:52 KST

South Korea's foreign ministry has raised its travel alert level on Myanmar, citing the ongoing political turmoil and violence in that country.
The advisory says South Korean nationals should postpone or cancel trips to Myanmar, and recommends they return if they are already there.
The government also plans to charter more flights to bring its nationals back home, if necessary.
The ministry has set up an emergency team to monitor the situation and protect South Korean nationals in Myanmar.
