Seoul's foreign minister says working with China is one of the most important components of making progress in the Korean Peninsula peace process.
On his way to China for a one-on-one with his counterpart Wang Yi, Chung Eui-yong told reporters that Beijng needs to continue playing a "constructive role" on the matter.
Chung will sit down with China's top diplomat on Saturday in Xiamen, next to the strait of Taiwan.
Also topping their agenda will be regional and global issues and bilateral cooperation as the two countries mark 30 years of diplomatic ties next year.
The visit follows Chung's face-to-face talks with his American and Russian counterparts, respectively, in Seoul, last month.
