Seoul, Tokyo agree to facilitate cooperation, communication over N. Korea's nuclear issue Updated: 2021-02-16 10:01:21 KST

South Korea's chief nuclear envoy has been discussing cooperation for complete denuclearization and lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula, in a phone call with his Japanese counterpart.
Seoul's foreign ministry says Monday's talks come as the U.S. has been stressing the importance of trilateral cooperation with South Korea and Japan in addressing regional challenges, including the nuclear issue.
The ministry added they assessed the current situation and exchanged views on ways to facilitate cooperation going forward.
