Biden, Suga discuss Seoul-Tokyo tensions during phone talks: Report Updated: 2021-01-29 15:34:57 KST

U.S. President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga on Thursday discussed Seoul-Tokyo relations during phone talks.
Japan's Yomiuri Shimbun reported Friday that the two leaders, among other issues, discussed South Korean victims of Japan's wartime forced labor and sex slavery.
Another Japanese newspaper, the Mainichi Shimbun, raised the possibility that Biden may have told Suga that he hopes Japan makes efforts to ease Seoul-Tokyo tensions.
Sources also said that Biden and Suga agreed on the importance of trilateral cooperation between Seoul, Washington and Tokyo, against North Korea's nuclear and missile threat.
