U.S. President Joe Biden's pick for Washington's next ambassador to the UN is calling for multilateral cooperation not only with its allies South Korea and Japan, but also with China and Russia to tackle the North Korea nuclear issue.
During her Senate confirmation hearing Wednesday, Linda Thomas-Greenfield criticized the Trump administration for failing because the U.S. tried to go alone, leaving Washington's allies holding the bag.
Biden and his national security team have already stressed the need to restore Washington's relationship with its traditional allies, including Seoul.
