South Korea's exports in the first 20 days of January were up more than ten percent from a year earlier on growing global trade volume and demand for wireless tech.
According to the Korea Customs Service, exports amounted to 28.2 billion U.S. dollars, an on-year increase of 10.6 percent.
By sector, semiconductor shipments rose by almost 12 percent and automobiles by nearly 16 percent.
Exports of telecommunication devices rose the most at 60.5 percent.
There was a decline in shipments of petroleum products of more than 45 percent, partly due to low oil prices.
