Pfizer and BioNTech aim to boost manufacturing capacity to deliver two billion COVID-19 vaccine doses globally by the end of this year.
This is a whopping 54 percent increase from their initial goal of 1.3 billion doses.
BioNTech explained in a presentation Monday, that the updated label now reflects the availability of six doses from each vial, up from the original five doses, will be able to help increase supply capacity.
It also added operations at its newly acquired production site in western Germany will begin by the end of February , boosting capacity by 750 million doses per year.
