Entry restrictions on S. Korea travelers to Japan extended by one month Updated: 2020-03-28 09:16:24 KST

Seoul's Foreign Ministry expressed regret as Tokyo announced an extension to its entry restrictions on South Korean travelers.
Visa-waiver programs were halted in both countries due to COVID-19 on March 9thbut Japan's entry restrictions were due to be lifted at the end of the month.
Despite Korea's evident progress in quarantine efforts, as shown in the recent steady slowdown of new coronavirus cases, Japan still pushed for the one-month extension.
The ministry vowed to continue efforts to urge the Japanese government to promptly lift the restrictions.
