IMF chief warns COVID-19 outbreak has put already fragile global economic recovery at risk Updated: 2020-02-24 16:56:02 KST

IMF chief Kristalina Georgieva has warned that the COVID-19 epidemic could already be putting what the IMF has described as a fragile global economic recovery at risk.
She told a meeting of G20 finance ministers and central bank governors in Saudi Arabia on Sunday that the outbreak's potential economic ripple effect is a "real concern."
She added that the IMF projects what she called a "V-shaped, rapid recovery" for the global economy.
But given the uncertainty around the spread of the virus, the IMF chief urged financial leaders to "prepare for more adverse scenarios."
