The government held a special event on Wednesday in Seoul to review the performance of this year's so-called 'Brand K' initiative.
'Brand K' is a government-sponsored consumer brand for local small-and mid-sized producers.
Certificates were given to 39 companies designated as 'Brand K' firms.
Awards were also given to conglomerates that helped the brand's development.
SMEs and Startups Minister Park Young-sun said the combined sales of 'Brand K' firms topped 25 million U.S. dollars just three months after its launch.
