Foreign direct investment into South Korea has surpassed 20 billion U.S. dollars for five years in a row.
The trade ministry says this year's FDI amounted to 20.3 billion dollars.
Last year's FDI reached a record 26.9 billion dollars.
The ministry said foreign investors have a favorable view of the South Korean market despite weak investment sentiment globally.
It added that investment this year focused particularly on high-end consumer goods including beauty products and equipment.
