Hyundai Research Institute predicts 2.3% growth rate for S. Korean economy in 2020 Updated: 2019-09-22 18:16:09 KST

A local economic think-tank is expecting South Korea's economy to grow 2.3 percent next year.
In its latest report released on Sunday, the Hyundai Research Institute forecast that the Korean economy will see a small rebound in 2020.
However, downside risks remain including a prolonged economic slowdown in countries abroad and sluggish domestic demand.
The report stressed the need for economic stimulus measures in the short-term and ways to break the low-growth cycle in the mid-to-long term.
