The U.S.-South Korea alliance is the "foundation for peace and prosperity" on the Korean Peninsula and throughout the region.
That's what U.S. Ambassador to South Korea Harry Harris said in a keynote speech at the Indian Ocean Region Conference on Wednesday.
The former U.S. navy officer referred to the DMZ encounter between the leaders of South Korea, North Korea, and the U.S. back in June saying, it was a standing proof of the "strength of the U.S.-South Korea alliance for peace and prosperity."
He went on to say that President Moon Jae-in's 'New Southern Policy' - centered around 'People, Peace and Prosperity' - is in harmony with America's vision for the Indo-Pacific.
