Despite tensions between Seoul and Tokyo , the Korea-Japan Hanmadang Festival will be taking place in Seoul on Sunday.
South Korea's vice foreign minister Lee Tae-ho and Japan's Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Norikazu Suzuki will be attending.
Eyes will be on what the two officials will say given the current diplomatic tensions.
The event has taken place every year since 2005 when Seoul and Tokyo celebrated the 40th anniversary of normalizing their relations.
It has now become the biggest and oldest non-governmental event between the two nations.
