President Moon Jae-in made a speech at the UN General Assembly in New York on September 21st. Marking the 30th anniversary of the two Koreas’ joint admission to the United Nations, he unveiled a framework to bring N. Korea back to the negotiating table. The Blue House said the event would serve as an opportunity to reaffirm international support and our contribution to the advancement of peace on the Korean Peninsula. For this edition of the annual UN meeting, S. Korean boy band BTS accompanied President Moon as special presidential envoys for future generation and culture. President Moon requested the global boy band to voice hope and respect for diversity to tackle poverty and inequality. This week, we touch upon the significance of President Moon’s speech at the UN General Assembly and the projection for peace on the Korean Peninsula.
