The French special forces rescued four tourists abducted by Burkina Faso militants in West Africa. Four hostages consist of two French nationals, an American, and a South Korean were brought back safely while two soldiers were killed in action. Meanwhile, people in France are pointing fingers at the rescued travelers for visiting dangerous regions despite the authorities’ warnings. The official memorial service to honor the two fallen troops took place on May 14th in downtown Paris. Following the incident, there are growing calls in South Korea to impose stricter guidelines on its travel advisories and raise public awareness about traveling to dangerous regions.
