The National Institute for International Education (NIIED) supports education for Korean nationals residing abroad and cooperates to promote international education exchanges. KIM Young-gon has been the NIIED president since this year.
His early career began as the policy analyst at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) from 2005 to 2007. In 2015, he served as the secretary-general of the UNESCO World Education Forum. He has also been involved in international education at the Ministry of Education as the director general at the International Cooperation Bureau, University Support Bureau and Vocational Education Policy Bureau.
He strives to expand his support for international education exchanges and international students. We speak with NIIED president KIM Young-gon on today’s Heart-to-Heart.
