Small business owners are being hit hard by the ongoing pandemic, with many stores in Seoul’s major commercial districts shutting down after failing to pay rent. A Korean lawmaker has proposed a bill that would force property owners to waive or reduce rent for businesses affected by COVID-19 restrictions, sparking a heated debate.
