after ‘Parasite’ takes home 4 Oscars
The film ‘Parasite’ has made history at the Oscars after taking home four awards, including Best Picture and Best Director, at the 92nd Academy Awards on February 9 local time in Los Angeles. It marked the first time in the Academy’s history that a non-English language film won the Best Picture award, despite a voting membership that consists mostly of Caucasian males, which had been long criticized for its conservative nature. This is also being seen as another milestone for Korean pop culture, which is making its global presence felt through Korean cinema, K-Pop, K-Dramas, and more. In this week’s edition of ‘Foreign Correspondents’, we sit down with our panel of journalists to talk about ‘Parasite’ and its big win at the Oscars.
